### Location

Custom branding is managed under:
**Configuration → Web → Themes**

### Impact Scope

- Changes apply **only to the home page**, not subpages.
- Designs should stay aligned with Activate’s styling for consistency.

### Tiles

- Large tiles reduce visible entry points and can confuse users.
- Tiles with **secondary landing pages** are allowed but require additional configuration.
- If you remove standard entry points, provide a **clear alternative** for navigation.

### Styling

- The default subpage background is **white or very light** for readability.
- Avoid drastic colour changes that make the UI inconsistent or hard to read.
- Background images should be subtle and non-distracting.

### Mobile Home Page

- Activate supports **a separate home page for mobile devices**.
- Keep the mobile home page **simple** due to limited screen space.
- Use **Google Chrome’s device emulator** to test designs on different screen sizes.

### Testing Guidelines

- Test across multiple screen sizes and devices.
- Validate for all user roles.
- Use developer tools and emulation modes—do not rely on manual browser resizing.
