Role Search Using Additional Parameters

this document explains how role searching works in activate, including current limitations and newer capabilities for filtering roles using attributes beyond the role name overview role search behaviour in activate is designed to prioritise performance and predictable results for this reason, direct searching is limited to a defined set of fields rather than all role attributes current behaviour in current released versions, roles can only be searched using the name attribute it is not possible to directly search for roles based on other parameters, such as address values or custom role attributes enhanced filtering capability from activate version 8 3 onwards, select controls support enhanced filtering based on configured parameter values this allows roles to be filtered using additional attributes, including displayname other configured role parameters this functionality is implemented at the select control level and enables more flexible role selection within forms scope and limitations behaviour in versions prior to v8 3 remains unchanged filtering applies only to select controls, not to global or free text role search available parameters depend on how the role is configured
