HTTPS is required for Activate sites. To prevent users from encountering errors, you may need to redirect any incoming HTTP traffic to HTTPS.

This guidance is provided for informational purposes only. As HTTP-to-HTTPS redirection is configured outside of Activate, Activate can provide limited support for this setup.

Follow the steps below to set up the redirect:

1. Download and install URL Rewrite from https\://www\.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/url-rewrite#additionalDownloads 
2. Install URL Rewrite
3. Open IIS and navigate to Activate website
4. Open URL Rewrite

5. Select Add Rule from the Action > Blank Rule > OK
6. Configure the rule as below, the click Apply.

You need to perform an IISRESET to ensure all new sessions pick up on these changes.

Please Note - this may prevent you from using localhost/activate
