How to Configure Activate for other Trusted Domains

how to configure activate for other trusted domains at times customers may need to read and possibly write or update objects in other trusted domains, this article covers configuring activate to read objects from trusted domains you should only make this configuration change if you need users from other trusted domains to access activate or you need to manage objects in other trusted domains if you need assistance with writing to objects in other trusted domains, please contact your activate representative as each configuration can be different depending on your organisations domain configuration and security activate will scan for trusted domains based on the active directory configuration that is read from the domain controllers that the activate server is a member of steps by default this functionality in activate is turned off out of the box this is by design to enable this feature you need to make a configuration change in activate administrator browse to resources\activedirectory\trusted domains double click on the enabled parameter and set this to 1 right mouse button on the resources\activedirectory\trusted domains node and then select trusteddomainresource tasks > reload trusts after clicking on the reload trusts option, perform a refresh of the resources\activedirectory\trusted domains node and check that your trusted domain is listed below as this is a low level configuration change to activate, you must exit the activate administrator application and restart the activate job service once the activate job service has been restarted, reload the activate administrator application and you can then use the search active directory tool on the activate administrator toolbar to check you can select the trusted domain and then search for users change the search drop down list by clicking on the down arrow
