In some cases, you may need to prevent a default entitlement—such as a department, location, or other role—from applying to members of a specific **user type**.

You can achieve this by **suffixing two colons (\::)** followed by the **user type role name**. To **exclude** a user type, prefix the role name with an **exclamation mark (!)**.

# Examples

## Include only a specific user type

DefaultUserGroup\::Employee
:::

Only users of type **Employee** will receive this default entitlement.

## Exclude a specific user type

:::BlockQuote
DefaultUserFolder\::!Contractor
:::

Only users **not** of type **Contractor** will receive this default entitlement.
