In Activate, a service that contains sub-items can be configured as a **Category**. When a service is marked as a category, Activate displays a dedicated properties page instead of the standard list of sub-items.

When users select a category service, they are taken to this category view rather than the usual *browse objects* page. The category view provides:

- Descriptive information about the category 
- A clear list of available sub-options that users can select from 

This approach is designed to give users more context before making a selection, helping them choose the most appropriate option for their needs.

Category services differ from **Grouped services**. While grouped services simply organise items into a shared list, category services allow sub-items to be presented independently, alongside richer explanatory content. This makes category views particularly useful when additional guidance or differentiation between options is required.
